A strong storm system has brought moderate to heavy rainfall to the
Navarro and Eel River Basins. Periods of moderate to heavy rain will
continue to impact the region through Thursday.

* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* FORECAST...This river is Expected to rise above flood stage of
23.0 FT this afternoon, then forecast to crest near 32.0 FT near
noon Thursday. Then the river is forecast to fall below flood stage
late Thursday evening and recede further to near 13.5 FT late
Saturday morning..
* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Water will flow over the south bank of the
river approximately 1 mile east of Highway 1, and begins to flood
property in this area including six homes. Expect closure of
Highway 128. Motorists should use alternate routes.
* FLOOD HISTORY...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.4 feet
on February, 7 2017.

* FORECAST...This river is Forecast to rise above monitor stage of
14.0 FT then expected to rise above flood stage of 20.0 FT
Thursday afternoon. The river is forecast to crest near 22.0 FT late
Thursday evening and fall below flood stage late Friday morning. The
Eel river will further recede to near 13.5 FT late Saturday morning..
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, the western half of the Eel Delta may be
completely flooded, especially if at or above this level for an
extended period of time. This includes areas northwest of Loleta
and the western portion of Cannibal Island Road.
* FLOOD HISTORY...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.8 feet
on January 14, 1995.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, expect significant flooding of the western
portions of Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, Cock Robin
Island Road, Salt River, Old River, and all adjacent low-lying
areas. Flooding in these areas is exaggerated when crest timing is
coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds and for longer
duration events. Livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel Delta are
at risk due to rising river levels. Owners of livestock should
consider taking appropriate action to protect livestock.

* FORECAST...This river is Forecast to fall below monitor stage of
14.0 feet by Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, expect significant flooding of the western
portions of Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, Cock Robin
Island Road, Salt River, Old River, and all adjacent low-lying
areas. Flooding in these areas is exaggerated when crest timing is
coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds and for longer
duration events. Livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel Delta are
at risk due to rising river levels. Owners of livestock should
consider taking appropriate action to protect livestock.
