The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a High
Wind Warning, which is in effect until 4 PM MDT this afternoon.
the High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS...West 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* TIMING...Winds will begin to pick up along the Rocky Mountain
  Front this morning, with strong winds persisting through late
  afternoon. Winds will peak around late morning.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.

MDT THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a High
Wind Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 9 PM
MDT this evening. The High Wind Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS...West 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* TIMING...Winds will begin to pick up along the I-15 corridor
  from Great Falls to Conrad later this morning, with strong winds
  persisting through this evening. Winds will peak around during
  the afternoon hours.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult,  
  especially for high profile vehicles.

...HIGH WIND WARNING HAS EXPIRED...

The strong west winds have decreased below warning criteria this
afternoon along the Rocky Mountain Front and east into the Cut 
Bank area. A Canadian cold front will shift lingering gusty winds
more northwesterly through the remainder of the afternoon, then
winds should decrease further this evening.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has cancelled the
High Wind Warning for much of central Montana.

Westerly winds will remain gusty across central Montana through
this evening, but strong wind gusts of 60 mph are no longer
expected.

Gusts to 50 mph will still be possible through some favored areas
through around 7 PM MDT, but winds will continue to decrease 
through the evening.
