The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 4 PM MST this afternoon. * AFFECTED AREA...San Rafael Swell, South Central Utah, and Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts in excess of 50 mph. * TIMING...Developing this morning and continuing through the day before diminishing late this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong cross winds will make high profile vehicles difficult to handle, including along I-70 and Highway 89. Visibility will be locally reduced in blowing dust. The strong winds will make waters dangerously choppy on area lakes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected.
