The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 9 PM MDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...South central Utah, San Rafael Swell and the Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell * WINDS...Southwest increasing to 25-35 mph with gusts over 45 mph likely. * TIMING...Noon until 9pm. * IMPACTS...Travel on I-70 and US-89 may be difficult at times for high profile vehicles due to strong cross winds. Areas of reduced visibilities are also possible due to blowing dust. In addition, winds will cause rough chop on Lake Powell. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected.
