THURSDAY...
The National Weather Service in San Diego has upgraded the Beach
Hazard Statement to a High Surf Advisory...which is in effect
from 10 AM Monday to 6 AM PST Thursday.
* What...A large long period west swell to bring the highest surf
of the winter season thus far to the beaches of Orange and San
Diego Counties.
* Timing...Rapidly building surf on Monday, with peak surf heights
Monday evening through Tuesday night, slowly fading Wednesday and
Thursday.
* Surf...Orange County - Monday: Building to 6-8 ft with sets to 10 ft
Tuesday: 6-9 ft with sets to 12 ft
Wednesday: 5-8 ft with sets to 10 ft
Thursday: 4-6 ft with sets to 8 ft
San Diego County - Monday: Building to 6-9 ft with sets to 12 ft
Tuesday: 6-10 ft with sets to 15 ft
Wednesday: 5-9 ft with sets to 12 ft
Thursday: 4-6 ft with sets to 9 ft

the potential for high surf to continue into next weekend with
the arrival of a new westerly swell.

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing rip currents, beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
