496 WWUS75 KREV 131028 NPWREV URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Reno NV 328 AM PDT Tue Mar 13 2018 CAZ070-NVZ005-140000- /O.NEW.KREV.WI.Y.0004.180313T1700Z-180314T0200Z/ Surprise Valley California-Northern Washoe County- Including the cities of Cedarville, Fort Bidwell, Empire, and Gerlach 328 AM PDT Tue Mar 13 2018 ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING... The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 7 PM PDT this evening. * Timing: Winds will increase this morning and continue through this evening. * Winds: Southerly 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Impacts: Strong southerly flow will channel through area valleys with strong crosswinds along NV route 447 north of Gerlach. Gusts will become erratic through the afternoon during periods of precipitation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Now is the time to secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture, holiday decorations, and trash cans before winds increase which could blow these items away.
