West central Pershing County in west central Nevada... Central Washoe County in western Nevada... * Until 1130 AM PDT * At 935 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain along Highway 447 east and northeast of Pyramid Lake. Storms were moving north at 30 mph. Debris and mud flows are expected in along Highway 447, especially near the Tohakum Burn Scar. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Highway 447 near the Tohakum Burn area. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads.
