...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MST THIS MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect until 11 AM MST this morning. 

* LOCATION...The Southern Sangre De Cristo Mountains including
  Highway 160 over La Veta Pass.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...An upper level jetstream will pass over the
  region this morning.

* WIND...Southwest winds 30 to 50 gusting to 80 mph.

* IMPACT...Hazardous travel is expected, especially for high
  profile vehicles moving through areas of strong crosswinds.
  Power disruptions or outages will be possible. Trees and
  property may be damaged. Flying debris may pose a hazard to 
  those outdoors.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of at least 75 mph are expected. Keep a firm grip on the wheel if
traveling. If in a high profile vehicle, consider pulling well 
off the road until the winds subside. Stay indoors to avoid 
flying debris. If you see downed power lines, stay away from 
them and notify the power company.
