The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 10 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS/TIMING...The strongest winds will begin just after midday and persist through the evening. Hazardous driving conditions expected for high profile vehicles, especially semis with light loads. Blowing dust is also expected. Boating on area lakes may be treachorous, especially for smaller watercraft. * WINDS...Southwest winds of 25-32 mph sustained with gusts of 40-50 mph. * LOCATIONS...Pocatello, Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, St. Anthony, Atomic City, and the districts of Fort Hall Reservation closest to American Falls Reservoir. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A wind advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Gusts over 45 mph are possible. The National Weather Service in Pocatello has cancelled the Wind Advisory. Winds have decreased throughout the Snake Rive Plain and Arco Desert. Therefore the Wind Advisory has been cancelled. Gusty southwest winds through midnight may continue to be challenging for high profile vehicles. Drivers are urged to remain cautious, especially while traveling across the Arco Desert. $$
