* At 827 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 
  Localized amounts of 2 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen in 
  Ocean County, southern portions of Monmouth County and western 
  portions of Burlington County. Flash flooding is expected to begin 
  shortly in the areas of heaviest rain.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
  Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
  Barnegat, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point

OCEAN...NORTHEASTERN BURLINGTON AND SOUTHEASTERN MONMOUTH COUNTIES...

At 920 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
slow-moving showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the 
warned area. Two to four inches of rain have already fallen in the 
area with most widespread heavy rain occurring in central Ocean 
County and southeastern Monmouth County. Numerous road closures were 
reported by emergency management in Monmouth County. Expect more 
instances of flash flooding to occur shortly as heavy rain continues 
in these areas.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
Barnegat, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point
Pleasant Beach, Tuckerton, Presidential Lakes Estates, Seaside
Heights, Lakehurst, Pemberton, Farmingdale, Surf City and
Wrightstown.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 are possible, particularly in 
northern Ocean County and in Monmouth County.

At 1016 AM EDT, emergency management reported numerous road closures 
due to flooding in northern portions of Ocean County and in 
southeastern portions of Monmouth County, where radar and automated 
gauges indicate 4 to 6 inches of rain has already fallen. Flash 
flooding is likely already occurring. This is a dangerous situation 
and the worst of the flash flooding may have yet to occur.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
Barnegat, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point
Pleasant Beach, Tuckerton, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Farmingdale,
Mantoloking, Allenwood, West Freehold and Cassville.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 are possible in the warned 
area with the heaviest amounts likely to occur near the Ocean and 
Monmouth County border.

Lakewood and Brick Township in northeastern Ocean County. The worst 
of the flash flooding and heaviest rainfall likely extends northward 
from Ocean County into southeastern Monmouth County where radar and 
automated gauges indicate 5 to 8 inches of rain have already fallen. 
Flash flooding is already occurring. This is a dangerous situation 
and the worst of the flash flooding may continue for the next 1 to 2 
hours as torrential downpours and excess runoff continues.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach,
Lakehurst, Farmingdale, Mantoloking, Allenwood, West Freehold,
Adelphia, Vista Center, Elberon and Brick Township.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in 
southeastern Monmouth County through early afternoon.

At 1106 AM EDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in 
Lakewood and Brick Township in northeastern Ocean County. The worst 
of the flash flooding and heaviest rainfall likely extends northward 
from Ocean County into southeastern Monmouth County where radar and 
automated gauges indicate 5 to 8 inches of rain have already fallen. 
Flash flooding is already occurring. This is a dangerous situation 
and the worst of the flash flooding may persist into the early 
afternoon.

Sharp rises along the North Branch Metedeconk, Manasquan and Shark 
Rivers are occurring in response to the extreme runoff. The river 
gauge along the North Branch Metedeconk near Lakewood was above 
flood stage as of 11 AM.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach,
Lakehurst, Farmingdale, Mantoloking, Allenwood, West Freehold,
Adelphia, Vista Center, Elberon and Brick Township.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in 
southeastern Monmouth County through early afternoon.

  ongoing from heavy rain earlier in the day, this flash flood 
  warning has been extended into the afternoon.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
  Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell,
  Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach,

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN OCEAN AND SOUTHEASTERN MONMOUTH COUNTIES...

At 220 PM EDT, emergency management reported ongoing flooding near 
the Monmouth and Ocean County border. Howell, Wall, Neptune, 
Lakewood and Brick Township were among the hardest hit towns where 
both radar and automated gauges indicate 5 to 8 inches of rain fell 
this morning. Extensive flooding, causing damage to homes in Howell 
Township along the Metedeconk River, was reported.

Although, the heavy rain has ended and the threat of new flash 
flooding is decreasing, many rivers and streams continue to rise in 
response to the excess runoff. Ongoing or imminent flooding along 
the Metedeconk, Manasquan and Shark Rivers can be expected this 
afternoon. 

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Toms River, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell, Tinton Falls,
Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Farmingdale, Mantoloking, Leisure
Village, Allenwood, Cedar Glen West, Leisure Village East, Ramtown,
Brick Township, Collingwood Park, Freewood Acres, Point Pleasant and
Neptune City.

An areal Flood Warning will likely be needed when this Flash Flood 
Warning is set to expire around 330 PM.
