.A storm system arriving Thanksgiving afternoon will bring gusty
southwesterly winds across the North Bay through Friday
afternoon. Southwest winds will be locally strongest along the
coast and over the higher terrain of the North Bay. In addition,
gusty crosswinds will impact the Golden Gate Bridge, Richmond San
Rafael Bridge, and Carquinez Bridge, bringing difficult travel
for motorists.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 PM PST FRIDAY...

* WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 35 mph 
  for valley locations including most urban towns and cities. 
  Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 50 mph for the 
  Marin and Sonoma coastline as well as interior North Bay 
  elevations above 1000 feet. Locally stronger winds over the 
  highest mountain peaks and ridges across the North Bay.

* TIMING... Southwest winds will strengthen across the Northern 
  San Francisco Bay between Thursday afternoon and Friday 
  afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down weakened trees and 
  branches. Downed power lines may lead to isolated power 
  outages. Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles. 
  Unsecured objects will be blown around or knocked over.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

will bring gusty southwesterly winds to portions of the North Bay
from late Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Southwest 
winds will be strongest along the coast and over the higher 
terrain of the North Bay. In addition, gusty crosswinds will 
impact the Golden Gate Bridge, Richmond San Rafael Bridge, and 
Carquinez Bridge, resulting in difficult travel for motorists.

The National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area has cancelled
the Wind Advisory for Coastal North Bay and the North Bay
Mountains.

Southwest winds peaked in intensity early on Thursday evening and
have since begun to subside. Although gusty winds will continue
across the North Bay through Friday, winds are no longer expected
to reach advisory levels, except perhaps at a few isolated higher
peaks. Therefore, the Wind Advisory for the North Bay Mountains
and Coastal North Bay has been cancelled.
