THIS EVENING FOR FLATHEAD LAKE...
...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Wind
Advisory...which is in effect from 9 AM this morning to 9 PM MDT 
this evening.

* Impacts/Timing: Strong east-northeast winds will develop 
  throughout the day. Winds could exacerbate ongoing wildfire 
  suppression efforts. Also impacted will be outdoor recreation on
  all area lakes.

* Winds: 15-25 mph, with gusts approaching 35-40 mph. 

* Flathead Lake: Cooler air settling in above the warm lake, along
  with the winds, will help create very choppy conditions on
  Flathead Lake. The worst conditions are expected from 10AM to 
  4PM.
 
* Flathead Lake wave height forecast available at 
  http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mso/flatheadlake 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Note...The experimental wave height forecasts are representative
of the mid lake waters and downwind shores. Wave heights may be
significantly less on upwind shores.

Advisory...which is in effect from 9 AM this morning to 9 PM MDT 
this evening. 

* Impacts/Timing: Strong east-northeast winds will develop throughout
  the day, becoming especially gusty in favored canyons (such as 
  Badrock Canyon). Winds could exacerbate ongoing wildfire 
  suppression efforts. Also impacted will be outdoor recreation on
  area lakes.

* Winds: 15-25 mph, with gusts approaching 35-40 mph. 

* Locations impacted include: Bad Rock Canyon, Essex, Highway 83 
  Bigfork to Swan Lake, Marias Pass, and Polebridge

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory for Flathead Lake...which is in effect until 8 AM MDT
Tuesday. 

* Impacts/Timing: Strong east to north winds will continue across
  the central, east-central areas and towards the Narrows through
  the overnight hours. Winds will diminish shortly after daybreak
  Tuesday. These winds will create 2 to 3

* Winds/Waves: 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wind gusts to 40
  mph are expected near Yellow Bay. 1 to 3 foot waves.

* Flathead Lake wave height forecast available at 
  http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mso/flatheadlake 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
