...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT KANABEC...NORTHERN MILLE LACS
AND EAST CENTRAL MORRISON COUNTIES...
At 1135 AM CDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Bayview, or 17
miles south of Mille Lacs Lake, moving east at 40 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph and nickel size hail are possible with this
storm.
Locations impacted include...
Mille Lacs Lake, Mora, Onamia, Isle, Wahkon, Grasston, Quamba,
Lastrup, Vineland, Knife Lake, Harding and Hillman.
This includes U.S. Highway 169 between mile markers 203 and 229.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
If you are on or near Mille Lacs, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
