The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Minnesota, including the following areas, Faribault and Martin. * Through Thursday morning * Ongoing rain will continue through much of the night into Thursday. Periods of heavy rainfall with isolated thunderstorms could bring upwards of 4-5 inches of rainfall by Thursday morning across the watch area. * This long duration rainfall event will bring an increased risk for river and stream flooding, especially in areas that have recently received heavy rainfall this week. Flash flooding will be possible, especially in thunderstorms, where rainfall rates will be much higher. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
