...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough surf and a moderate risk of rip
currents, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this morning through
this evening.

* HAZARDS...Rough surf and a moderate risk of rip currents.

* TIMING...from 7 am this morning through this evening.

* LOCATION...all east central Florida beaches.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf will develop at east central
Florida beaches today. The surf will build in the afternoon and
become rough. The rough surf can knock you down and make you
susceptible to being caught in a rip current. A northeast to
east swell will support strong rip currents.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
