...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough surf and rip currents, which is in 
effect from 7 AM EST this morning through this evening. 

* HAZARDS...Rough surf and a moderate risk for rip currents.

* TIMING...through 7 pm this evening.

* LOCATION...along east central Florida beaches.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf will develop into the afternoon
  hours which will create dangerous surf conditions. Rough surf
  can knock you down and make you susceptible to being caught in a
  rip current.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Only swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a 
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the 
shore and call or wave for help.
