The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for rough surf and dangerous rip currents, which is in effect through this evening. * HAZARDS...Rough surf and rip currents. * TIMING...Strengthening east winds will lead to increasingly rough surf today, while the threat of rip currents will be greatest through mid afternoon due to tidal effects. * LOCATION...All the beaches of east central Florida. * POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf can knock you down and make you susceptible to rip currents.
