...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough surf and dangerous rip currents, 
which is in effect through this evening.

* HAZARDS...Rough surf and rip currents.

* TIMING...Rough surf conditions will be present all day due to
  breezy onshore flow while the threat of rip currents will be 
  greatest early this morning and again late this afternoon due to
  tidal effects.

* LOCATION...All the beaches of east central Florida. 

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...The rough surf can knock you down and make 
  you susceptible to seaward flowing rip currents.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you choose to the enter the water, only swim near a lifeguard.
If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against 
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
