...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for strong currents and rough surf, which is in
effect from 7 AM EDT this morning through this evening. 

* HAZARDS...Strong winds and building surf will occur today as
  Alberto moves northward off of Florida's Gulf coast. Rough surf
  and strong currents will be present. Bathers are advised against
  entering the water to any floating depth. Do not swim alone. 

* TIMING...Hazards conditions will be present from dawn to dark
  today.

* LOCATION...All of the east central Florida coast. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
