...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough surf and a moderate risk of strong and
dangerous rip currents, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this 
morning through this evening. 

* HAZARDS...Rough surf and a moderate risk of life-threatening rip 
  currents.

* TIMING...from 7 am this morning through this evening.

* LOCATION...all east central Florida beaches.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf will affect east central Florida
  beaches today. The rough surf can knock you down and make you
  susceptible to being caught in a rip current. An east-northeast
  swell will support strong rip currents at east central Florida 
  beaches today.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
