* Until 315 AM CDT.
* At 1219 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected
to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Middleton, Waunakee, Verona,
McFarland, Monona, Mount Horeb, Windsor, Marshall, Cottage Grove,
Cross Plains, Deerfield, Mazomanie, Shorewood Hills, Cambridge,
Black Earth, Maple Bluff and Blue Mounds.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

CENTRAL DANE COUNTY...
At 1242 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area. 2 to 3
inches of rain have already fallen across most of the Madison metro
area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly or has already
begun.
At 1240 AM CDT, water was reported over Odana Road near Grand Canyon
Drive in Madison. Water was halfway up the tires of cars trying to
go through this area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Middleton, Waunakee, Verona,
McFarland, Monona, Mount Horeb, Windsor, Marshall, Cottage Grove,
Cross Plains, Deerfield, Mazomanie, Shorewood Hills, Cambridge, Black
Earth, Maple Bluff and Blue Mounds.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in one hour are
possible in the warned area, as storms continue to move east
southeast over this same area. This is a dangerous situation at
night, when it is difficult to see flooded roads.

At 102 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area. Two to four
inches of rain have already fallen across most of the Madison metro
area, with the highest amounts in the south central and southwest
parts of the metro area. Flash flooding is ongoing!
At 1258 AM CDT, a public report of lots of road flooding on side
streets, stranded cars, and accidents on the Beltline.
Please stay off of the roads in the Madison metro area if at all
possible! Rainfall rates this heavy in an urban area like Madison
will continue to cause flash flooding, especially in low lying areas
with runoff.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Middleton, Waunakee, Verona,
McFarland, Monona, Mount Horeb, Windsor, Marshall, Cottage Grove,
Cross Plains, Deerfield, Mazomanie, Shorewood Hills, Cambridge, Black
Earth, Maple Bluff and Blue Mounds.

southwest parts of the metro area. Flash flooding is occurring and
expected to continue!
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches in one hour are
possible in the warned area.

The storms have moved off to the southeast, and no additional
rainfall is expected in the Madison metro area, and most of the
warned area. However, runoff is expected to continue during the
overnight hours, which will continue the effects of the flash
flooding.
Please stay off of the roads if at all possible! Do not drive into
flooded roads! Turn around, don't drown!

The heavy rain has ended across the warned area, including the
Madison metro area. The flash flooding that was occurring is no
longer expected to pose a threat.
However, be careful driving into the early morning hours across the
Madison metro area. As the sun rises, minor flooding in low lying
areas may still remain, and become easier to see. Please do not
drive into any water covered roads.
