...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect through this evening. 

* TIMING...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Rough surf and rip currents will create dangerous
  waters for swimmers along the Palm Beaches. Rip currents will 
  become strong near structures in the water such as piers, 
  jetties and reefs. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties
and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK HAS EXPIRED...

The winds have fallen to 10 to 15 knots along the east coast
beaches this evening, and should remain around 10 to 15 knots
tonight. This has allowed for the threat of rip currents to 
decrease a little bit along the east coast beaches. Therefore, the
High Risk Of Rip Currents has been allowed to expired for the
beaches of Palm Beach County.
