heavy rain moving into the Louisville metro. Expect 1 to 2 inches
to fall quickly over the next 1 to 3 hours. Localized higher
amounts likely. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly and
last through the evening hours.0

expected to continue as more thunderstorms move into the area.

Shively, Shepherdsville, Lyndon, Middletown and Douglass Hills.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to locally 2 inches are possible in

COUNTIES...
At 712 PM EST, local law enforcement reported extremely heavy rain
due to a thunderstorm over Jefferson County Kentucky and Louisville
metro. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding
is occurring. There are numerous reports of stranded vehicles, water
reaching the top of cars. This is a serious situation! Please avoid
travel across Louisville metro.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews,
Shively, Shepherdsville, Lyndon, Middletown and Douglass Hills.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area through 9 pm. More storms will cross the area overnight
as well.

COUNTIES...
At 830 PM EST, NWS Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain had ended
for the time being across the warned area. However, there have been
reports of water over roads, especially over parts of south-central
and eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky. Some creeks and small
streams are out of their banks.
Additional heavy rain, and likely additional flash flooding, will
occur in the warned area later this evening as a band of
thunderstorms moves in from the west.
