The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Elko County in northeastern Nevada...

* Until 745 PM PDT

* At 239 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is possible over 
  much of the area between Wells and Carlin, and either side of 
  Interstate 80. 

  The Oil Well burn scar from last summer which is located north of 
Interstate 80, between Ryndon and Elko, will be very prone to 
flooding and mudslides. This crosses the highway in a few places. 

If you come to a flooded or closed road, turn around. Don't drown! 
Keep and eye uphill for water or debris flows.

  Valley, Deeth, Ryndon, Spring Creek, Angel Lake, Adobe Summit,

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM PDT FOR
CENTRAL ELKO COUNTY...

At 506 PM PDT, Doppler radar  and trained weather spotters reported 
continued heavy rain showers in various parts of central Elko 
County. This includes the Oil Well burn scar area between Ryndon and 
Elko. The warning will remain in effect. 

Heavy rain on burn scars run off quickly, dragging mud and debris 
with them. They can easily cross roads. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Elko, Carlin, Wells, South Fork, Ruby Valley, Lee, Lamoille, Clover
Valley, Deeth, Ryndon, Spring Creek, Angel Lake, Adobe Summit, Secret
Pass, Lamoille Summit, Lamoille Canyon, Emigrant Mine, Star Valley
and Halleck.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you come to a flooded or closed road, turn around. Don't drown! 
The road may not even be there. Only one foot of running water can 
carry away most cars and pickups. A couple of feet can actually wash
