The National Weather Service in Key West has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 5 PM EST this afternoon. * TIMING...Westerly winds will increase to 25 to 30 mph this morning, with frequent gusts of 35 to 40 mph. Winds will begin to slowly diminish this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusts along the Overseas Highway will be highest on bridges and overpasses. Residents should secure trash cans, lawn furniture, holiday ornaments, and other loose or lightweight outdoor objects. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph, or frequent gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
