...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM HST this evening. A High
Wind Watch has also been issued. This High Wind Watch is in
effect from this evening through Wednesday afternoon.

* WINDS...Southwest 40 to 55 mph with gusts from 55 to 65 mph
  today. Stronger winds exceeding High Wind Warning thresholds are
  possible tonight and Wednesday.

* TIMING...Expect increasing wind speeds on the summits of the Big
  Island this morning. Advisory level winds are expected through
  Wednesday night. Warning level winds are possible tonight
  through Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will make driving difficult especially
  for high profile vehicles. Consider securing loose objects that
  may become airborne.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory for the summits means that sustained winds of at
least 45 mph, or gusts of at least 55 mph, are expected. Motorists
should use extra caution.

A High Wind Watch for the summits means there is the potential 
for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 56 
mph or gusts of 66 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor 
the latest forecasts.

.Very strong winds aloft associated with an incoming low pressure

summits tonight and Wednesday.

  for high profile vehicles. Travel to the summits is not advised.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means that winds at the summits are expected 
to be at least 56 mph, with gusts over 66 mph. Take necessary 
precautions to protect property. Travel to summit areas should be 
delayed until winds subside.
