The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 845 PM HST

* At 540 PM HST, radar indicated a new pulse of heavy rain over 
  central and north Kauai. This will produce a new surge of water in 
  Hanalei River that is expected to close Kuhio Highway near the 
  Hanalei Bridge. Water levels are also expected to rise other 
  drainages such as the North and South Forks of Wailua River in the 
  east and Hanapepe River in the south. This rainfall and flooding 
  may persist for several hours.

* This warning includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring in
streams, roads, and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.

Do not cross fast flowing water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM HST FOR THE
ISLAND OF KAUAI IN KAUAI COUNTY...

At 716 PM HST...emergency management reported that Kuhio Highway at 
Hanalei Bridge has been closed due to flooding.  Heavy rain showers 
will continue to move across the island of Kauai over the next hour, 
adding more water to the already high running streams and rivers 
around portions of the island.  The flooding may persist for several 
hours.

This warning includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring in
streams, roads, and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 1045 PM HST

* At 826 PM HST, emergency management reported that flooding 
  continues to impact Kuhio Highway at the Hanalei Bridge, and the 
  road remains closed.  Although the heavy rain has diminished over 
  the island of Kauai, streams and rivers will remain high and 
  dangerous for the next couple of hours as the water drains down 
  from the higher terrain.
    
* This warning includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flash flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring in
streams, roads, and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.

  at the Hanalei Bridge remains closed due to flooding from the 
  earlier heavy rains. The river continues to recede slowly.

* Locations in the warning include but are not limited to...
  Lihue, Kilauea, Mana, Hanalei, Na Pali State Park, Omao, Wainiha,
  North Fork Wailua Trails, Moloaa, Wailua Homesteads, Kalaheo and
  Wailua.
