The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Beach Hazards Statement, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening. * Location...Ocean beaches of Maine and New Hampshire. * Beach Hazard...Warm air temperatures in the 80s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures which are currently only in the mid to upper 50s. * Timing...Friday. Similar conditions are likely this weekend into early next week. * Winds...Light becoming southerly around 10 mph in the afternoon. * Impacts...The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water.
