.A strong cold front will move across the region late today. The
winds will shift to northwesterly behind the front this evening,
and strengthen significantly as low pressure develops well to our
north through Friday. The strong northwest winds will continue
through the day Friday and then overnight before tapering off

Strong northwest winds are expected to linger across the
mountains tonight. While the strong winds will begin to subside 
across much of the area this evening, strong winds are expected to
continue near the Blue Ridge in North Carolina through tonight 
and into early tomorrow morning.
