Relative humidities will begin to fall below the critical 20 percent threshold by around noon, reaching minimums in the single digits, with sustained wind speeds increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph shortly thereafter. This in combination with dry fuels will result in critical to near extreme fire weather conditions. Winds are forecast to subside below 15 mph by dusk but relative humidity will be slower to recover, not rising above 20 percent until after midnight. A cold front is forecast to move through overnight Saturday and bring another chance for critical fire weather conditions Saturday, perhaps expanding farther east as well.
