This system will deepen as it lifts north allowing the gradient to tighten further. This will allow for strong and gusty northeast to easterly winds across much of central and southern Iowa this morning. Additionally strong winds aloft may be transferred to the surface in areas of rain and isolated storms through the morning hours.
