TUESDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday evening.
* LOCATIONS...In South Carolina, Coastal Jasper County. In Georgia,
Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal
McIntosh Counties.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to one half foot of saltwater
inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near
shorelines and tidal waterways (9.1 to 9.5 feet Mean Lower Low
Water). Saltwater inundation could impact some roads.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Very strong rip currents will be dangerous to
anyone who enters the surf.
* TIMING...High tide will occur around 8:19 PM today at Fort Pulaski.
Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after
high tide.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
No one should enter the surf due to life threatening rip currents.

above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines
and tidal waterways. Tides at Fort Pulaski are expected to peak
between 9.3 to 9.7 feet Mean Lower Low Water with high tide this
evening. Saltwater inundation will impact some roads, including
Highway 80 to Tybee Island. The risk for coastal flooding will
continue around times of high tide through Thursday as Hurricane
Michael passes through the area as a Tropical Storm.

above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines
and tidal waterways. Tides at Fort Pulaski are expected to peak
between 9.0 to 9.4 feet Mean Lower Low Water with the high tide
this morning. Saltwater inundation could impact some roads,
including Highway 80 between the mainland and Tybee Island. The
risk for coastal flooding will continue around times of high tide
through Thursday as Hurricane Michael passes through the area as a
Tropical Storm.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Up to 5 to 8 foot breaking waves and very
strong rip currents will be dangerous to anyone who enters the
surf.
* TIMING...High tide will occur around 945 to 1000 AM today at Fort
Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before
and after high tide.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Everyone should remain out of the water. Mariners should use extreme
caution, especially near inlets, cuts and bays. Swells approaching
these areas can lead to large, dangerous breaking waves. Keep a
clear distance away from the ocean. Structures such as piers and
jetties will be particularly treacherous.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
No one should enter the surf due to life threatening rip currents.

feet Mean Lower Low Water with the high tide this morning. This
will result in many roads becoming impassable and at least minor
flooding of properties. The risk for coastal flooding will continue
around times of high tide through Thursday as Hurricane Michael
passes through the area as a Tropical Storm.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Up to 5 to 8 foot breaking waves and very
