The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Western Burke County in east central Georgia...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 558 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimates of over three 
  inches of rain has already fallen in the past hour and a half. 
  Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Burke County dispatch 
  reported water flowing on the roadway on highway 56 south of 
  Waynesboro.  Roads that cross Buckhead creek and Rocky creeks are 
  likely to be flooding and motorists should use caution while 
  driving.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Waynesboro.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Flash flooding will occur near small creeks and streams, country
roads, farmland and other low lying spots. Avoid traveling in the
warned area.
