Southeastern Westmoreland County in east central Virginia...
* Until 1130 AM EDT.
* At 829 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kinsale, Coles Point, Hague, Westmoreland, Currioman Landing, Mount
Holly, Gibeon, Sandy Point, Erica, Kremlin and Oldhams.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

NORTHWESTERN NORTHUMBERLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN WESTMORELAND COUNTIES...
At 1027 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain is still falling over portions of the area, though
the recent trend is for the rain to diminish in coverage and
intensity. In excess of three inches of rain have already fallen.
Localized areas of flash flooding are already occurring and will
continue.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kinsale, Coles Point, Hague, Westmoreland, Currioman Landing, Mount
Holly, Gibeon, Sandy Point, Erica, Kremlin and Oldhams.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to one half are possible in the
warned area through 1130 am EDT.
