The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Freeze
Watch, which is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday
morning for northeast Clark County and the Las Vegas Valley. 

* TEMPERATURE...Low temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees in northeast
  Clark County and around the edges of the Las Vegas Valley. If
  the wind blows all night Monday night, the freezing temperatures
  may hold off until Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...This would be the first freeze of the season for these
  areas, which would end the growing season and kill sensitive
  plants left outdoors. Pets may also suffer from hypothermia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Freeze Watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.
These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
Preparations should be made to protect pets.

* WIND...Southwest 20-30 MPH with gusts 35-50 MPH, strongest just
  downwind of mountain ranges such as the western Las Vegas
  Valley. Winds will turn to the north this afternoon with similar
  speeds behind a cold front.

* TEMPERATURE...Low temperatures Monday night of 28 to 32 degrees
  in northeast Clark County and around the edges of the Las Vegas
  Valley. If the wind blows all night Monday night, the freezing 
  temperatures may hold off until Tuesday night and Wednesday 
  morning. 

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds can create hazardous driving conditions
  due to crosswinds and blowing dust. Loose objects and temporary
  structures may be displaced. The first freeze of the season will
  end the growing season and kill sensitive plants left outdoors.
  Pets may also suffer from hypothermia.

Freeze Watch is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday
morning.

  evening. The coldest temperatures are expected between midnight
  and 9 am each morning. Similar temperatures may return Tuesday
  night.

* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph in 
  south central Nevada, and southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts 40 
  to 50 mph in extreme northwest Arizona.

  front. Winds will peak Monday and Tuesday afternoons, before

THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...

* TEMPERATURE...Overnight temperatures will plummet to 12 to 20 
  degrees in most valley locations Monday night.

* WINDS...Winds will continue to decrease through the night.

* Impacts...Frigid temperatures can cause pipes to burst, people 
  and pets to suffer from frost bite hypothermia, and can kill 
  sensitive plants. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution if traveling through the region and be prepared
for sudden crosswinds and areas of reduced visibility due to
blowing dust. In addition, bring pets indoors to protect them
from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of
outdoor pipes...they should be wrapped...drained...or allowed to
drip slowly. Anyone with in ground sprinkler systems...should
drain their systems or cover any above ground pipes to protect
them from freezing.

A Hard Freeze Watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.
These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

  degrees in southern San Bernardino County, especially in the 
  Yucca Valley area. 

* IMPACTS...The first freeze of the season will end the growing 
  season and kill sensitive plants left outdoors. Pets may also 
  suffer from hypothermia.

Preparations should be made to protect pets and freeze-sensitive
