The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to midnight PDT Thursday night. * TIMING...Winds will peak in two periods over the Sierra and Owens Valley with the first beginning this afternoon through late tonight. Winds will see a brief lull Thursday morning before increasing once again Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. * WINDS...Southwest winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts of up to 65 mph above 5000 feet. Below 5000 feet southwest winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * IMPACTS...Strong crosswinds will make travel difficult along U.S.Highway 395 in the Owens Valley.
