SOUTH CENTRAL GARFIELD AND NORTHEASTERN KANE COUNTIES...
At 743 PM MDT, the Escalante River was experiencing flash flooding.
A river gage near Escalante recorded a peak flow of 1550 cfs due to
runoff from earlier heavy rain. Doppler radar indicated that 1 to 2
inches have fallen along the headwaters of the Escalante and areas
downstream. Although the heavy rain has diminished, flood waters
will continue to make their way down the Escalante River drainage
through late this evening.

Flood waters are gradually receding along the Escalante River
