The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Riverside County in southern California...

* Until 545 AM PDT
              
* At 251 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding will likely 
  begin shortly. Around one inch of rain has fallen in the past hour 
  and flooding of Borrego Palm Canyon will likely occur due to these 
  heavy rains. Motorists and hikers within and downstream of the 
  canyon should seek higher ground immediately.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
  Southeastern Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, Rancho
  Mirage, Hwy 74 Between Mountain Center And Anza and Hwy 74 Between
  Anza And Palm Desert.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 AM PDT FOR
RIVERSIDE COUNTY...

At 411 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy thunderstorms 
that prompted the warning had moved out of the area. However, an 
area of moderate showers has also re-developed and will bring 
additional rainfall through 6 am of up to one-quarter of an inch. 
Flash flooding is still a concern, especially in the Borrego Palm 
Canyon basin. Flooding was reported in Thousand Palms along Ramon 
Road. 

Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
Southeastern Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, Rancho
Mirage, Hwy 74 Between Mountain Center And Anza and Hwy 74 Between
Anza And Palm Desert.
