.Weather conditions that are ideal for a rapid spread of 
wildland fires have materialized today. Wind gusts approaching
40 mph at times have been observed, and will continue through
the afternoon. Relative humidity values are expected to 
range from 20 to 30 percent this afternoon. 

Very dry fuels exist due to drought conditions developing across
southern Missouri and southeast Kansas.
