The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  St. Clair County in west central Missouri...

* Until 1100 AM CDT

* At 505 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain has
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

This warning includes the Osceola, Lowry City and Appleton City 
areas. 

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route J at Brush Creek 6 miles west of Collins...
and Route BB, 9 miles east of Schell City.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches is expected. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 AM CDT FOR
ST. CLAIR COUNTY...

At 723 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that rainfall was diminishing 
across the warned area but light to moderate showers continued. Two 
to four inches of rain has fallen across the warned area with the 
highest amounts across northern St. Clair County.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route J at Brush Creek 6 miles west of Collins...
and Route BB, 9 miles east of Schell City.

Additional rainfall amounts up to one half inch are possible in the 
warned area before the rain ends this morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
