* At 1157 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a slow moving cluster of
thunderstorms producing excessive rain across portions of
Cherokee, Jasper, and Newton counties. Up to three inches of rain
has already fallen in some areas, with an additional one to three
inches possible. The Little Shawnee Creek, Shawnee Creek, and the
Spring River are likely to experience the heaviest amounts of
rainfall with these storms. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.
* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

At 513 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that some areas received over
five inches of rain last night from thunderstorms. This is likely
causing some residual flooding in low lying and flood prone areas.
This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Highway 7 at Little Cherry Creek north of Columbus.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
