The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Sierra County in northern California...
Nevada County in northern California...
* Until 645 PM PDT
* At 444 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain moving into the Farad Fire burn scar. Flash flooding
and debris flows affecting Interstate 80 are expected to begin
shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Farad Fire burn scar. The debris flow can consist
of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
Rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch in less than one hour are possible
in the warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM PDT FOR
SIERRA AND NEVADA COUNTIES...
At 530 PM PDT, most of the heavy rain on the Farad Fire burn scar
has ended, but light to moderate rain will continue for another 45
minutes. Due to the steep nature of the terrain in the vicinity of
the burn scar, flash flooding and debris flows may be possible with
as little as 0.50 inches of rain.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
