* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Chaffee County in central Colorado...

* Until 645 PM MDT

* At 349 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
  begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Lower reaches of Chalk Creek and Nathrop. 

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

This includes the following streams and drainages...Chalk 
Creek.

CENTRAL CHAFFEE COUNTY...

At 414 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain has already 
fallen...with the heaviest centered around 7 miles west southwest of 
Nathrop. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.  

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near 
steep terrain of Chalk Creek. The mud slide can consist of rock, 
mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lower reaches of Chalk Creek and Nathrop. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Chalk 
Creek.

At 501 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding 
is already occurring.  County road 162 is closed around 5 miles west 
of Nathrop.  

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chalk Creek, Alpine, Nathrop and St Elmo. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Little Browns 
Creek...Cottonwood Creek...South Cottonwood Creek... Baldwin

At 540 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated rain has moved out of the 
warned area. Up to two inches of rain has fallen across Chalk Creek 
centered around 6 miles west of Nathrop.  Flash flooding is still 
occurring.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Alpine, Nathrop and St Elmo. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Little Browns 
Creek...Cottonwood Creek...South Cottonwood Creek... Baldwin
