The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Thursday. * AFFECTED AREA...Far western Imperial County * TIMING...Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening * WINDS...West winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Ridgetops and wind prone locations could possibly see gusts up to 45 mph. * IMPACTS...Windy conditions will create hazardous driving conditions especially for high profile vehicles along Interstate 8. Locally reduced visibilities due to blowing dust are possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between 30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and 58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
