Onshore flow will increase ahead of the front today with gusty winds developing through the Cascade gaps and over the Waterville Plateau and extreme western basin by the late afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values this afternoon will drop into the low to mid teens. Winds will remain breezy into Monday with relative humidities dropping back into critical levels for the afternoon. The combination of breezy winds and low relative humidities will result in rapid fire spread for any new or ongoing fires. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity...which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 9 PM PDT Monday. * Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 673 East Washington Northern Columbia Basin (Zone 673) and Fire Weather Zone 677 East Washington Central Cascade Valleys (Zone 677). * Winds: West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph late Sunday afternoon and evening. Winds will decrease to 10 to 15 mph overnight Sunday then increase back to between 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph for Monday afternoon and evening. * Relative Humidities: Sunday afternoon...11 to 23 percent. Monday afternoon...13 to 25 percent. * Impacts: Any ongoing or new fires will likely spread. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
