The winds will also reinforce dry air in place with relative humidities reaching critical levels by the late morning hours. Rapid fire spread will be possible with any new or ongoing fires. WAZ684-141900- /O.NEW.KOTX.FW.W.0018.170914T1700Z-170915T0300Z/ East Washington Okanogan/Methow Valleys (Zone 684)- 323 AM PDT Thu Sep 14 2017 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE OKANOGAN VALLEY... The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity...which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT this evening. * Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 684 East Washington Okanogan Valley (Zone 684). * Winds: North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph this morning. Winds will decrease a bit in the afternoon to between 10 and 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * Relative Humidities: 14 to 23 percent. * Impacts: Rapid fire spread will be possible for any new or ongoing fires across the Okanogan Valley. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly.
