...GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

.Gusty winds will develop through the Cascade Gaps this afternoon
spilling on to the Waterville Plateau and far western reaches of 
the Columbia Basin. This will be accompanied by very dry humidity 
values through the early evening.

PDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE
CENTRAL CASCADE VALLEYS AND WESTERN REACHES OF THE COLUMBIA BASIN...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity...which is in effect
from 3 PM this afternoon to 9 PM PDT this evening.

* Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 673 East Washington Northern 
  Columbia Basin (Zone 673)...Fire Weather Zone 676 East 
  Washington South Central Cascade Valleys (Zone 676) and Fire 
  Weather Zone 677 East Washington Central Cascade Valleys (Zone 
  677).

* Winds: west to northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
  In the Kittitas Valley...17 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

* Relative Humidities: 10 to 20 percent.

* Impacts: Windy conditions with low relative humidities will 
  promote rapid spread of new or existing fires. Outdoor burning 
  is highly discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...RED FLAG WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 9 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND
AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE CENTRAL CASCADE VALLEYS AND
WESTERN REACHES OF THE COLUMBIA BASIN...

Relative humidities have increased above 20 percent this evening.
Winds have decreased as well across most of the region. The
exception to this is down the Kittitas Valley where northwest
winds 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph will continue through the
evening, however relative humidities are in the 40s. No locations
are currently experiencing red flag criteria and so the warning
will expire at 9 pm.
