* Until 800 AM CDT Wednesday
* At 152 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall occurring in
bands of thunderstorms moving onshore in Escambia and Santa Rosa
Counties in the western Florida Panhandle. Observation sites
across the region indicate between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
already fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 inches or more
per hour may be seen as these bands move onshore. Flash flooding
is expected to begin shortly.

SOUTHERN SANTA ROSA AND SOUTHEASTERN ESCAMBIA COUNTIES...
At 233 AM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding
occurring across southern Santa Rosa County, with several roads
either closed or impassible. Doppler radar continued to show heavy
rainfall occurring in bands of thunderstorms moving onshore across
southern Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Additional rainfall
amounts of 2 inches or more per hour may continue to be seen as
these bands move onshore.

SOUTHERN SANTA ROSA AND SOUTHEASTERN ESCAMBIA COUNTIES...
At 550 AM CDT, heavy rain continues to fall across southern parts of
Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, as bands of thunderstorms continue
moving onshore from the Gulf of Mexico. Widespread rainfall amounts
have been recorded by observation networks in the region, with a
public report in excess of 6 inches received by the National Weather
Service just west of Pensacola. Any additional rainfall amounts will
only exacerbate ongoing high water concerns.

Southeastern Escambia County in northwestern Florida...
* Until 200 PM CDT Wednesday
* At 740 AM CDT, the public reported flash flooding and road
closures across the warned area. Weather stations across this area
are reporting up to 6 inches of rain since yesterday, with the
majority of that rain having fallen since midnight. Any future
rain will only exacerbate ongoing flooding.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pensacola, Ferry Pass, Brent, West Pensacola, Ensley, Warrington,
Gonzalez, Pace, Milton, Gulf Breeze, Goulding, Bagdad, Myrtle
Grove, Oriole Beach, Navarre, Perdido Beach, Pensacola Beach,
Navarre Beach, Pea Ridge and Roeville.
Satellite and radar observations show another band of heavy showers
and thunderstorms over coastal waters approaching the warned area
from the south. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area over the remainder of this morning.

SOUTHERN SANTA ROSA AND SOUTHEASTERN ESCAMBIA COUNTIES...
At 1108 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated bands of moderate to heavy
rains continuing to lift northward off the Gulf over the warned
area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pensacola, Ferry Pass, Brent, West Pensacola, Ensley, Warrington,
Gonzalez, Pace, Milton, Gulf Breeze, Goulding, Bagdad, Myrtle Grove,
Oriole Beach, Navarre, Perdido Beach, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach,
Pea Ridge and Roeville.
Many area rain gauges over the warned area have reported upwards of
4 to 6 inches of rain with a few localized areas seeing near 8
inches. Most of these rains occurred overnight. Additional rainfall
amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible over the warned area through
the afternoon. Due to the very wet ground conditions, additional
heavy rains will likely lead to runoff and exacerbate flooding
problems.
There have been reports of a few road closures due to flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
