The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Collier County in southwestern Florida...
  Northwestern Mainland Monroe County in southwestern Florida...

* Until 200 AM EDT Wednesday

* At 753 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated training thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Additional training 
  thunderstorms are expected to occur over already saturated ground 
  for the next several hours. Doppler radar estimates and rainfall 
  totals indicate that 10 to 15 inches of rain have already fallen 
  over the warned area. An additional 3 to 6 inches of rainfall is 
  possible, with localized higher amounts. This new rainfall, 
  combined with recent heavy rains will lead to significant flooding 
  in the warned area, including likely road closures and potential 
  inundation of structures. Interests in the area should pay close 
  attention to the situation.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Marco Island, Chokoloskee, Everglades City, Plantation Island and
  Carnestown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 200 AM EDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN COLLIER AND NORTHWESTERN MAINLAND MONROE COUNTIES...

At 931 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Radar estimates indicate that 2 to 4 
inches of rain have already fallen, with an additional 1 to 3 inches 
of rain possible over the next few hours. Additional redevelopment 
of thunderstorms later tonight and into Wednesday morning may bring 
even more rainfall to the area. Flash flooding will be possible at 
any time, with road closures likely and potential inundation of 
structures. 

Interests should continue to heed extreme caution and pay close 
attention to the situation. If encountering flooded roadways, turn 
around, don't drown!
