DAVIS, AND APACHE MOUNTAINS, EDDY COUNTY PLAINS, VAN HORN AND
HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR, AND REEVES COUNTY AND UPPER TRANS PECOS...

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM CDT /6 AM MDT/ THIS MORNING
TO 1 AM CDT /MIDNIGHT MDT/ WEDNESDAY FOR LEA, GAINES, ANDREWS,
LOVING, WINKLER, PRESIDIO, BREWSTER, DAWSON, MARTIN, MIDLAND,
ECTOR, AND WARD COUNTIES...

.An upper level storm system will pass north of the region today
and tonight. As a result, west winds have increased across the  
the Guadalupe, Davis, and Apache Mountains, in addition to the  
adjacent plains.  Westerly winds of 30 to 40 mph will also affect
locations as far east as a Lamesa to Midland to Monahans line.  
These winds will subside early Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY...

* TIMING...Until 3 AM MDT Wednesday.

* WINDS...Today...West 40 to 60 mph. Gusts up to 75 mph 
  increasing to 85 mph in the afternoon. Tonight...West 35 to 55 
  mph. Gusts up to 75 mph decreasing to 65 mph after midnight. 

* IMPACTS...Severe turbulence near the mountains will be 
  hazardous for light low flying aircraft. These winds could 
  make driving difficult for high profile vehicles such as 
  campers, vans, and tractor trailers.

Advisory, which is in effect until 10 PM CDT this evening. 

* TIMING...7 AM CDT /6 AM MDT/ this morning to 1 AM CDT 
  /midnight MDT/ Wednesday. 

* WINDS...Today...Southwest to west 30 to 35 mph. Gusts up to 50 
  mph in the afternoon. Tonight...West to northwest 25 to 35 mph 
  with gusts to around 50 mph. 

* IMPACTS...Secure lawn furniture, garbage cans or other objects 
  which could be blown about by the wind.
